Being good at a lot of things, but not great at one thing in particular has always seemed like a negative in my professional life, but I’m learning the sum of my skills is bigger than I thought. Paired with a strong intuition for marketing and communicating and I’m feeling more and more like a force to be reckoned with!

Undergraduate schooling is all about tests and memorization. Basically a test to make sure you know how to learn. Graduate school is very different. Projects and papers are the name of the game. Explaining that I know something and not picking the answer from a list of options is my preference and now I really get to start bringing my interests and skills to the table. Bring it on!
Being in school is all about balance, financially, socially and otherwise. There is so much to do and, unlike at a job where things are a bit cut and dried, you’re left to your own devices to prioritize and get things done. I feel sometimes like the financial is the dark cloud looming over me all of the time, but I think I’ve chosen the best options I can.
I’ve had a hard time explaining what I’m going to school for, and finally I’ve found the answer. Yes, I’ve been in school for a whole semester and I still didn’t know exactly how to verbalize why I am where I am. Better late than never?
